Hi, I'm Raihaan
BIO
I’m Raihaan Esat, General Manager of ICT. My coffee journey began with a simple passion for crafting drinks and grew into a deep connection with others over a perfect cup. I’ve dived fully into the coffee world, blending my love for the craft with business expertise.
From bustling espresso bars to top barista competitions, my focus has always been on quality. Managing a team of roasters and developing quality control systems has deepened my understanding of roasting and green coffee, ensuring premium batches. Owning my own business and guidance from mentors like Phillip Di Bella, have further honed my skills.
MY APPROACH
I take great pride in my achievements, which reflect my dedication to the coffee industry. Placing third in the ASCA Barista Championship (2014-16) and sourcing award-winning beans (2016) were just the beginning.
Leading teams in the Golden Bean series (2017-2020) and serving as Head Judge for Golden Bean Australia (2021-present) have been key highlights.
In 2022, I led a team to win the Golden Bean World Series, and in 2023, I was inducted into the Cafe Culture Hall of Fame.
These milestones drive me to connect, innovate, and elevate coffee’s quality.

BIO
I began my journey in the hospitality industry in 1999, and over the past 25 years, I’ve experienced nearly every role the food and beverage sector. From being a Dishwasher and Bistro Host to working as a Barista, Bartender, Manager, and even as a Coffee Roaster and Green Bean Specialist, I’ve done it all!
My passion for the performing arts has also taken me to Theatre, Film, Television, Live Music, and Street Art, both locally and internationally.
After running my own Roasting Business and Coffee Trailer in Lismore, I relocated to the Gold Coast and Brisbane to immerse myself even further in the coffee industry, where I joined ICT.
MY APPROACH
As a Green Coffee Trader and Customer Service Specialist, I believe in the “FISH Philosophy,” four core principles: Play, Make Their Day, Be There, and Choose Your Attitude. This helps me bring creativity and enjoyment with my interactions, going above and beyond for our clients.
These values are really important to me and help create a welcoming atmosphere where clients and colleagues always have great experiences.
