Bean Highlight: Hacienda La Esperanza Single Estate Washed

Are you looking for a clean, versatile Colombian coffee to add to your roasting lineup? This week, Chris from the ICT team is highlighting a standout from our fresh arrivals: the Hacienda La Esperanza Single Estate Washed.

We work directly with this fantastic farm in Colombia. If you are a fan of our fun, funky, and fermented offerings, you might already be familiar with their work. This beautifully processed washed coffee is actually the starting point for many of those experimental lots.

However, as Chris explains, this coffee is exceptional all on its own and does not need any alterations. It is a wonderfully clean and easy-drinking coffee that showcases the pure quality of the bean.

In the Cup
This coffee delivers on all fronts with aromas of floral honey, yellow fruits, caramel and citrus. When tasting, expect a profile of yellow nectarine and caramel, supported by a sweet brown sugar sweetness and a juicy citric acidity. It boasts a big round body and a silky mouthfeel.

Roaster Recommendation
Scoring an SCA 85.25, the Hacienda La Esperanza is incredibly versatile. It makes a brilliant, crowd-pleasing single origin, but its lovely citrus notes also make it a perfect component to add life and brightness to a blend.
